Mercedes-Benz is sending another model to Alabama.

The automaker has confirmed that it will move production of the U.S. market GLC compact SUV from Germany to its Tuscaloosa-area factory in 2027.

The move is largely a response to the new tariffs on imported vehicles and parts.

The GLC is the brand’s second-best seller in the U.S. behind the midsize GLE, which is already assembled in Alabama alongside the GLS and electric GLE.
