‘King Crab’ 2026 Hummer EV Pickup Revealed With 1,160 HP And 2.8-Second 0-60 MPH Time

The 2026 GMC Hummer EV has been updated with new features that make it quicker, both accelerating and turning.

All Hummer EV Pickups and SUVs are now equipped with a King Crab feature for their four-wheel steering systems, which can turn the rear wheels opposite the front wheels up to 10 degrees to make their turning circles tighter.

King Crab is an off-road mode that turns the rear wheels at a faster rate than the front wheels to help whip the rear of the vehicle around for improved maneuverability.

The standard four-wheel steering setting is still available as is the CrabWalk Mode, which turns the rear wheels in sync with the front wheels for diagonal driving. Existing 2022 to 2025 Hummer EVs will also receive a software update later this year that enables King Crab mode.

“From the start, we aimed to provide HUMMER EV owners over-the-air software updates. All 2026 HUMMER EV owners will have access to our latest software going forward, allowing new features to be introduced throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.”

GMC has also boosted the power of the top tri-motor Hummer 3X pickup from 1,000 hp to 1,160 and it can now accelerate to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, which is down from 3.0 seconds from today’s top model.

A new Carbon Fiber Edition trim will be offered for the 3X Pickup and SUV, but the latter is rated at 830 hp. The package includes Magnus Gray Matte paint, a Velocity Ember interior, 22-inch carbon fiber black wheels with all-terrain tires, carbon fiber exterior accents, a black bash plate and black emblems. The pickup also has a power tonneau cover while the SUV gets a tailgate-mounted full size spare.

All 2026 Hummer EVs also come standard with the latest version of the Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system. It can now follow a route in the built-in navigation system and change lanes to set up for interchanges, which it can negotiate on its own if both roads are among the 600,000 Super Cruise-certified roads in North America.

Deliveries for the US-built 2026 Hummer EV are scheduled to begin in late summer at prices that have not yet been announced. The 2025 Pickup and SUV currently start at $99,045.
