He smoked them again!

Tony Stewart won his second NHRA Top Fuel event at the Route 66 Nationals in Joliet, Ill., outside Chicago on Sunday.

Stewart beat Justin Ashley in the final round with a 3.777-second run at 329.10 mph in his Tony Stewart Racing Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Hellcat.

Stewart is in only his second season of Top Fuel drag racing after a single year competing in the Top Alcohol Dragster class.

The 53-year-old won his first Top Fuel event at this year’s 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte in April and is currently at the top of the season points standings. He is the first person in history to win races in the NASCAR Cup Series, IndyCar and NHRA Top Fuel.

“You gotta believe we’re real now at this point,” Stewart said on FS1 after the race.

“I wouldn’t have said it before today. I mean, we, I’ve said all along and even said after Vegas we’re making progress, we’re not where we need to be yet, but it’s hard to be the point leader and not sit there and think you’re a contender now.”
