Odds Are This Is Who Will Win The Indy 500

Can Josef Newgarden really go from the back to the front?
With the final round of Indy 500 practice completed during Carb Day on Friday, the latest betting odds for the Indy 500 are in.
Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden overcame last Sunday’s disqualification from Top 12 qualifying due to a technical infraction and the drama that followed all week to lead the session with a 225.687 mph speed.
He was followed by fellow two-time Indy 500 winner Takuma Sato, 2018 winner Scott Dixon, Devlin DeFrancesco and his Team Penske teammate Will Power.

Newgarden and Power will be starting the race from the last row in the 32nd and 33rd positions as a result of their penalties from qualifying.
No driver has ever won the race from that far back in the field. The record is 28th, which was achieved in 1936 and at the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911. That hasn’t stopped the oddsmakers at BetMGM from giving Negarden a very good chance to win.
Two-time runner-up Pato O’Ward, who will be starting on the front row in third, and Alex Palou, who is lined up behind him in sixth, are currently tied at +500 odds to win, but Newgarden is right behind them at +650. Fourth-place starter Dixon is fourth at +750 and followed by two-time winner Takuma Sato at +800. Power’s odds are +2000, which times him with pole-sitter Robert Schwartzman in eighth.
Kyle Larson, who will be attempting to complete both the Indy 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600, is in a four-way tie in ninth at +2500, but is favored to win the NASCAR race at +500.
The Indy 500 race broadcast is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. ET on Fox while the Coca-Cola 600 will follow it on Amazon Prime Video at 6:00 p.m. ET.
