Stellantis has named longtime executive Antonio Filosa as its new CEO. Filosa succeeds Carlos Tavares, who stepped down from the role in December.

The 25-year company veteran had been the head of Stellantis’ North American operations since last October and prior to that was the global CEO of Jeep. His resume also includes stints running Stellantis’ Latin America and South America operations.

“It is my great honor to be named the CEO of this fantastic Company,” Filosa said in a news release.

Stellantis, which includes Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and several European brands, has been struggling since it formed in 2021. In particular, its costly efforts to shift toward electric vehicles have not been very successful, leading several brands, including Dodge and Ram, to delay several products as they work to increase their internal combustion engine offerings.

Filosa will assume his new responsibilities on June 23.
