Kia moved production of this EV9 electric SUV to Georgia last year, and just in time.

The new tariffs on imported vehicles have led to several automakers increasing prices, but Kia has held the line on the EV9 and even reduced prices on several trims.

The starting price for an entry-level EV9 Light RWD with a Standard Range battery pack rated for 230 miles of driving stays the same at $56,395, while the 305-mile Long Range version of the same trim drops $2,000 to $59,395.

The 283-mile Wind AWD stays steady at $65,395, the 283-mile Land AWD gets a $1,000 discount to $70,395 and the 280-mile GT-Line a $2,000 discount to $73,395.

All of these trims also qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit on electric SUV purchase for as long as that stays in effect, although the so-called “One Big, Beautiful Bill” recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives would sunset the program at the end of 2025.

Pricing for the new top-of-the-line high performance EV9 GT has not yet been announced. That 501 hp model is slated to be imported from South Korea. Kia sold 22,017 EV9s in 2024, but just 3,979 through April of this year as the electric vehicle market cooled down.

Kia has also brought production of the smaller EV6 from South Korea to its West Point, Ga., plant which qualified models built there for the tax credit. Kia will be adding the EV4 to its electric lineup next year. The compact sedan is currently scheduled to be imported from South Korea and pricing has not yet been released.
