The Hennessey Venom 800 Is The 800 hp 2-Door F-150 Street Truck That Ford Won’t Build

The Ford F-150 Raptor R is an outrageous performance pickup. The off-road model is powered by a 720 hp supercharged 5.2-liter V8 and can run a 12-second quarter mile on its all-terrain tires.
However, the SuperCrew cab truck is more about kicking up dirt than leaving other vehicles in the dust at the drag strip. Its long-travel suspension and Fox Live Valve shocks make it more of a jumper than a sprinter.
Even though the engine was also featured in the Mustang Shelby GT500, Ford hasn’t put it in a street performance truck. In fact, the last one of those it made with a V8 was the F-150 Lightning that was discontinued in 2004, long before that model name went electric. But you’re looking for a two-door muscle truck today, there are options.
Ford Performance sells an FP700S package for the 5.0-liter V8-powered F-150 that’s good for 700 hp and comes with a suspension lowering kit for $12,350. That’s a DIY project, however, and still isn’t as potent as the Raptor R.

Fortunately, everything is bigger in Texas and that’s where Hennessey is located. The tuning house sells the Venom 800, which is a Regular Cab F-150 powered by a 800 hp V8 with 757 lb-ft of torque.
It’s also based on the 5.0-liter V8, but uses a 3.0-liter supercharger with a custom pulley, new throttle bodies and fuel injectors, an air-to-water intercooler, cat-back exhaust and other upgrades. Hennessey also lowers the suspension and adds Brembo brakes along with a street-performance wheel and tire package.

Hennessey offers the same drivetrain in an off-road SuperCrew Venom 800 it says it can do 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and an 11.7-second quarter-mile, so the lighter and lower street version should have no problem beating that.
Pricing depends on how the donor truck is trimmed, but Hennessey recently sold one for that listed for $114,950. It’s limited the number of builds it will do across the street and off-road versions to 250 for the 2024 and 2025 model years, but is already working on the next-generation version.
