Rick Hendrick’s $3.7 Million Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Has Been Built — Here’s Where To See It

Production of the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is well underway

Chevy has released a new video of the $175,195 cars going through the line at its Bowling Green Assembly plant.

The factory started cranking them out last week. The process includes a side quest for the 1,064 hp turbocharged 5.5-liter V8, which is hand assembled in the Performance Build Center, where each engine gets a plaque with thee name of the technician that built it.

The first car off the line was a black coupe with Edge Bluye stripes and Edge Blue wheels equipped with the ZTK track performance package.

The VIN 001 build slot for it was purchased by NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick at a charity auction in January for $3.7 million.

He likely won’t be driving it much as he keeps a collection of landmark Corvettes in his Heritage Center, which is a private museum adjacent to Hendrick Motorsports, but it is on public display for now. Hendrick has parked it in the lobby of City Chevrolet in Charlotte, which is the flagship store of his dealership empire.

While the very first ZR1 is a sure-fire collector’s item, it looks like that will be true for all of the cars built for the 2025 model year.

That’s because it will end shortly and production of the 2026 cars will start sometime this summer. The new model year brings the first updated interior since the. eighth generation Corvette launched in 2020.

According to a post on the Mid Engine Corvette Forum, Chevrolet will build just 302 ZR1s for 2025, making it the second-rarest Corvette behind the original 1953 Corvette, which a run of just 300 cars.
