Kevin Hart’s Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 Jailbreak Is For Sale And Worth At Least $400,000

It’s a one of a kind car in more than one way.
A very unique Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 originally purchased by entertainer and muscle car fanatic Kevin Hart is up for auction on Bring A Trailer. Dodge built just 3,000 of the 900 hp coupes for the U.S. market and this one is the 20th off the line.
It was ordered through Dodge’s Jailbreak program that allowed for customization and it is the only one that was sold in its particular configuration.
The car is technically listed as Pitch Black, but was painted Cream Sickle (Code: PY5) by Penske Vehicle Services through the Jailbreak process and a letter that came with it advised against washing the vehicle for at least a month.

The car has a contrasting black hood and black roof along with a standard black interior that is equipped with full seating, but comes with a carbon fiber panel that can be installed if the rear seats are removed for drag racing. The Demon 170’s notorious yellow splitter shipping guards are still affixed. Hart’s name appears on the VIN plaque under the hood and the included documentation shows that it had a $162,836 sticker price.

The lot also includes the serialized Demon drinkware set that came with the cars to commemorate the fact that the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 can run on E85 fuel. That cranks its horsepower up to 1,025 hp and cements its claim to being the most powerful muscle car ever. As the Demon 170 name suggests, E85 is technically a 170-proof alcohol, just don’t try to drink it, please.

You’ll find a much smaller number on the odometer, which reads just 24 miles. It’s not known if Mr. Hart drove any of those before selling the car to its current owner. It’s technically possible he could’ve taken it for a few very thrilling rides over that distance as it could do 0-60 mph in 1.66 seconds and a 8.91-second quarter-mile on a prepped drag strip when chugging E85, according to Dodge.

It had 19 miles on it the last time it was offered for sale at a Mecum Auctions event in May and failed to meet its undisclosed reserve with a top bid of $390,000. It has already surpassed that this time around with a $400,000 offer on the table with two days to go in the Bring A Trailer auction.

The record price paid for a Demon 170 at auction to date was $450,000 for a Panther Pink colored example with 36 miles on it offered by the same seller as Hart’s car.

The Demon 170 was the last version of the Challenger introduced before production of the model ended in December 2023. The Challenger was initially replaced by the all-electric Charger Daytona, but the a Charger powered by a new “Sixpack” 550 hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six will be going on sale this summer. There are currently no official plans to offer a V8, but it hasn’t been ruled out and Dodge’s sister company Ram just announced it is bringing back V8s for the 2026 model year after discontinuing them in 2025 in favor of the straight-six.
