Mystery Chevrolet Corvette To Be Revealed June 17 — Will It Be The Zora?

Chevrolet has announced on Istagram that it will be unveiling a new Corvette model on June 17.
The post includes an animation with the date and a Corvette logo, which is replaced by a stylized X.
The caption reads “The Hype Is real. A new #Corvette is coming.”
It’s likely that it will be the rumored all-wheel-drive hybrid Zora, which will slot above the $175,195 ZR1 in the Corvette lineup.
It is expected to combine the ZR1’s 1.064 hp rear-wheel drivetrain with the front electric motor from the Corvette E-Ray to create an all-wheel-drive hypercar with potentially more than 1,200 hp.

The X could suggest all-wheel-drive and there has been chatter in the Corvette fan world that instead of calling it the Zora it will e called the ZR1X.

Prototypes of whatever it is have recently been spotted on the Nürburgring circuit in Germany, either being tested or going for an official lap time.
It’s also possible that Chevrolet will be introducing another Corvette trim, like the Grand Sport, which has yet to be offered on the eighth generation mid-engine car and is typically a more track oriented take on the base Stingray.

Chevrolet had said several years ago that an all-electric Corvette was in the works, but there hasn’t been much talk of it lately as the EV market has cooled off, especially for high-end sports cars.
The ZR1 is just entering production now, so a higher spec model probably wouldn’t go on sale until next year, at the earliest.
As for now, all we can say is that Corvette fans should save the date.
