Tesla’s Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, said back in March that the automaker was going to give the Model S and Model X “some love later this year,” and now it has.

Tesla has revealed mildly updated versions of the Model S and Model X, which received their last major refreshes in 2021. They don’t look much different, but have new wheel designs that contribute to increasing the Model S Long Range’s range from 402 miles to 410 miles, which is a new record for a Tesla.

As with the recent Model 3 and Model Y update, the Model S and Model X get reengineered suspensions for better ride and handling. Road and wind noise have been reduced with the help of a “more effective” active noise cancellation system.

Tesla has also added a camera in the nose to help with parking and visibility as the vehicles do not have any radar or ultrasonic sensors and the existing front-facing camera is mounted behind the windshield.

The high performance Model S Plaid’s body has been tweaked to improve stability at high speed and the Model X’s cabin has been slightly reconfigured to make the third row and cargo areas more spacious.

Adaptive headlights and animated, multi-color ambient interior lighting are new features, while the controversial yoke-style steering wheel is now a $1,000 option that is only available on Plaid models.

After several recent adjustments, the price for both is going back up $5,000 across the board. The Model S Long Range is now $86,630, including all mandatory fees, and the Model S Plaid is $101,630. The Model X Long Range is $91,630 and the Model X Plaid is $106,630. That is unless you opt for the new Frost Blue Metallic paint color which is $2,500 on all models and trims.
