Tesla Model 3 Named Most ‘American-Made’ Vehicle — Here’s The Top 10

The Tesla Model 3 has topped the 2025 Cars.com American-Made Index, which ranks vehicles based on their impact on the U.S. economy.
The annual report considers the location of final assembly, where the engine and transmission are built, how much production supports the U.S. manufacturing workforce and the overall percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts used in the vehicle.
They are bundled together due to the current rules of the American Automobile Labeling Act, so an exact percent of U.S. made parts is difficult to reach from the publicly available information.
The Model 3 moved up from 21st last year, when there was a trim that had a larger amount of imported content. The Model Y was first last year, but dropped to second on the latest list. Heavy trucks and low volume vehicles are not included.
