This ‘New’ $315,950 1946 Dodge Power Wagon Is For Sale
You can’t beat an old truck. But you can make it better. North Carolina’s Desert Power Wagons has revealed its latest recreated first-generation Dodge Power Wagon.
The Timberline Green pickup features a 1946 body that rides on a custom ladder frame equipped with a modern Fox Racing 2.0 suspension system with remote reservoir coilover shocks and a set of Dana axles.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 5.9-liter Cummins straight-six diesel engine that sends 500 hp and 1,000 lb-ft through a four-speed automatic transmission and two-speed transfer case to 37-inch Maxxis mud-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels.
There is 9.5-inches of wheel travel for legitimate off-road capability, but also a Warn M12 winch with a 12,000-pound capacity in case you still manage to get it stuck.

The bed has been refurbished with oak panels and steel slats while the interior is dressed in diamond-stitched distressed leather. The dashboard retains its classic round speedometer, but it is now filled with a high tech Dakota Digital gauge cluster.

A Bluetooth-enabled touchscreen infotainment system has been added along with a Rockford Fosgate audio system, while a new center console houses Vintage Air controls and power outlets. Power side steps make it easier to climb into the cabin.

The build has 2,000 hours of work behind it and a price that reflects it. Desert Power Wagons has listed it for $315,950. That’s about twice what a well-restored Power Wagon with its original equipment might go for, but not out of the ordinary for a custom like this. In fact, the company has built even more expensive examples, like a custom crew cab with a utility body and fully modern Ram interior it debuted earlier this year for $424,950.
