The 2025 pickup sales race has reached the halfway point.

It’s been a tumultuous ride as the industry navigates new economic policies that are still unfolding, but things are looking up overall in the pickup segment.

Here’s a look at the leaders in the full-size, midsize and compact classes through June. (We’ll have a separate report on electric pickup sales.)

The Tacoma, which was updated in 2024, has fared much better than the Tundra with a 88.5% boost to 130,873 sales. That sets it up for an all-time record year if tariffs don’t have a negative effect on the Mexican-made truck.

Colorado sales are up 26.3% but it remains a distant second to the Tacoma with 52,815 deliveries.

Sales of the updated, but aging Nissan Frontier have fallen 23.4% to 30,598 in 2025, likely in large part to the sharp rise in Tacoma deliveries.

The compact Ford Maverick is the second-best-selling sub-full-size pickup behind the Tacoma and a 2025 update helped increase sales 11.6% this year to 86,056. It’s yet to be seen how a recent tariff-related price increase on the Mexican-made model will affect the second half of the yer.

The Maverick’s only competitor was also updated for 2025, but sales dropped 21% to 14,221.
