Fans of “Desert Bus” will love it!

NASCAR has set up a camera on one of the semi-truck haulers heading from Sonoma Raceway to Dover International Speedway and is livestreaming the entire trip on YouTube. The roughly 3,000-mile journey is one of the longest on the calendar.

There’s not much more to say about it than that. It kicked off just before midnight on Sunday after Shane van Gisbergen’s win at Sonoma and there haven’t been any issues with the vehicle so far.

It’s just an unusual window into the world of the NASCAR circus, which involves dozens of trucks shuttling across the country for 38 weeks each year as the teams deliver cars to and from their headquarters, which are mostly in North Carolina, to the tracks. Drivers work in teams on the long hauls so that they can stay within DOT limits.

The only sound on the NASCAR feed is the wind buffeting a microphone, which might not make a bad background noise if you’re trying to sleep, but maybe you’d want to challenge yourself by seeing how long you can stay awake while you count the bugs getting smashed on the windshield.
