It’s a pretty pony car.

A unique classic Ford Mustang modified by Italian design house Zagato that was listed for auction on Bring A Trailer has been sold for €155,000, which is approximately $180,000.

The 1967 Ford Mustang GT Zagato Elaborazione features a redesiged front end with rectangular headlights, a slim grille, a lower hood with a scoop on top and a repositioned bumper.

The interior is trimmed in custom two-tone black and white leather, but the car is otherwise largely original and powered by a 289-cubic-inch V8 connected to a four-speed manual transmission.

The Holy Green-colored car is the only Mustang GT of its kind, but Zagato gave a similar treatment to a Shelby GT350.

Ford purchased Carrozzeria Ghia in 1970 and soon put it to work on the Mustang II, which was offered in a luxurious Ghia trim that included a vinyl landau top, wood trim, Westminster Cloth upholstery, cut-pile carpet and aluminum wheels.

Ford has built many high-end Mustangs since then, but they’ve all been about performance and it has yet to take another shot at a luxury model or an Italian-designed production car.

It did build a concept based on the 2006 Mustang that was designed by Giugiario, however, which featured a dramatically restyled body and scissor doors, but it never made it off of the auto show stage and a Ford spokesperson told American Cars And Racing that the company doesn’t have any records on the car so its current whereabouts, if it still exists, are unknown.
