Mary Kay’s Pink Cadillac Is Electric Now

It’s a Cadillac that will definitely shock your optic nerves!
The Mary Kay cosmetics company has added the electric Cadillac Optiq to its lineup of Career Cars that top salespeople can earn.
The company’s namesake founder purchased a 1968 Cadillac Coupe Deville and had it painted to match the “pale pink Mary Kay lip and eye palette” she usually carried with her.
The car was such a hit that a year later she started the Career Car program which has put more than 24,000 pink Cadillacs on the road in the years since. Independent Sales Directors who reach a sales threshold are rewarded with a two-year lease on one of the vehicles. The latest is the first electric model that’s been offered through the program.

“With the introduction of the all-electric Optiq, we’re honoring that iconic legacy while driving into a transformative future—one grounded in our commitment to sustainability and dedication to inspiring and celebrating the achievements of our independent sales force for generations to come,” CEO Ryan Rogers said in a news release.

The compact SUV has a starting price of $54,390 and comes with a standard 300 hp all-wheel-drive system and an EPA range of 302 miles per charge

It’s not available in pink from the factory, but the Celestial Metallic color-shifting paint looks purplish-pink at times, depending on the light and angle of view.

If you want a truly pink Cadillac from the factory, you need to step up to the $340,000 Celestiq, which can be matched to any color the buyer requests. The first Celestiq delivered to a paying customer wasn’t quite so bright, but rather finished in a metallic brown color.
