Cadillac Will Build You A Custom V8-Powered CT5-V Blackwing By Hand For $158,000

Cadillac is a custom car shop now. Following the launch of the electric $340,000 Celestiq, which is hand-built to the unique specifications of the buyer, Cadillac is expanding the bespoke program to the V8-powered CT5-V Blackwing sport sedan.
It’s called Curated by Cadillac and allows customers to choose from more than 160 paint colors and an array of interior materials that can be mixed and matched in millions of combinations.
The parts for the vehicle are shipped to GM’s Artisan Center in Warren, Mich., where they are hand-painted and trimmed and then assembled by hand “from the ground up.”
A concierge is assigned to each customer to walk them through the process, which includes choosing seatbelt colors and multi-colored upholstery for the seats, if they like.

“Curated by Cadillac embodies our commitment to delivering an elevated level of customization,” said John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac said in a news release on the program. “Drawing upon experience from the ultra-luxury, hand-built Celestiq, we are now offering a limited number of CT5-V Blackwing customers an opportunity to create a vehicle that is as unique as their own story.”

The CT5-V Blackwing is the polar opposite of the electric Celestiq and comes powered by a 668 hp supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that can be paired to either a 10-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. The engine is assembled at GMs Performance Build Center in Bowling Green, Ky., and arrives ready to install in the car.

The price for a Curated CT5-V is $158,000, while the standard factory model starts at $99,190 and has nine paint and six interior color options. The first Curated by Cadillac cars are scheduled to be built in the middle of 2026 in limited numbers.
