No Bull! Urban Rustlers Steal Ram’s ‘Bucking Hemi’

Ram is rounding up a posse! The truck brand has had one of its prized possessions pilfered from Pontiac, Mich., on August 9.
Back in June, when it announced that it was bringing Hemi V8 engines back to the light duty 1500 pickup lineup and entering the NASCAR Truck Series in 2026, Ram unveiled a mechanical bull shaped like its new “Symbol of Protest” logo, which is a Hemi V8 engine with a Ram’s head.
Ram calls it the “Bucking Hemi” and had it at Michigan International Speedway for the NASCAR race and planned to bring it to future events.
One of them was the annual Roadkill Nights gathering of Dodge performance car fans in Pontiac, where folks could try to ride it for 15 seconds to win an exclusive T-Shirt that says “I rode the HEMI to redline, and it was Bucking Awesome.”

But sometime in the evening after the event when the pavilion was being disassembled, someone made off with the “Bucking Hemi” and it hasn’t been seen since. Ram promises that it’s not a publicity stunt and filed a report with the local police.

“This is b——-. Our Bucking Hemi was taken on Saturday evening. The search is officially on and we won’t stop searching until we get him back,” Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said in a press release.”
A Ram spokesperson told American Cars And Racing that the company is hoping the community will help catch the crooks, or at least find its crazy critter.
The 2026 Ram 1500s will be arriving in showrooms in the coming weeks with the available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with eTorque rated at 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque and will be followed early next year by the return of the Ram 1500 TRX powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8.

Ram hasn’t said how powerful the rebooted TRX will be, but the last one had 702 hp, which has since been surpassed by the Ford F-150 Raptor R’s 720 hp 5.2-liter V8, so you know it will be looking to get its title back. But first it needs to find that Bucking Hemi!
