Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup Added To MotoGP Schedule

Harley-Davidson is going to be hogging some of the spotlight during next year’s MotoGP season.
MotoGop is adding a new Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup as a support series to six race weekends next year that will feature touring style V-twin “bagger” motorcycles.
It was inspired by the increasingly popular MotoAmerica King of the Baggers series in the U.S. and will feature races in six countries, including the U.S., with the full inaugural schedule as follows:
Austin, Texas: March 27-29
Mugello, Italy: May 29–31
Assen, Netherlands: June 26–28
Silverstone, Great Britain: August 7–9
Aragon, Spain: August 28–30
Red Bull Ring, Austria: September 18–20
Each stop will host two races held on Saturday and Sunday and a season championship will be awarded at the Red Bull Ring.
“The launch of the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup signals a bold new era for Harley-Davidson and for the sport of motorcycle racing. This series is about pushing limits, of our machines, our riders, and our brand, on a global stage. We’re proud to partner with MotoGP to bring this vision to life,” Kolja Rebstock, Harley-Davidson Senior Vice President, International Markets, said in a news release.

The Harley-Davidson bagger race bike is based on the Road Glide and features a 150 hp 2,146 cc V-twin.

“This new cup is the next step in Harley-Davidson’s racing evolution. We’ve seen what’s possible with King of the Baggers in the U.S. and now we’re bringing that same energy, performance, and attitude to the world stage. This is more than just racing; it’s a global statement of who we are and where we’re going,” Jeff Schuessler, Harley-Davidson Global Director, Marketing & Partnerships Racing Programs said
The new series is now entertaining inquiries from prospective teams and riders and will announce the full lineup at a later date.
