2026 Jeep Cherokee Revealed As 37 MPG Hybrid For $36,995

The all-new 2026 Jeep Cherokee has been revealed, with deliveries scheduled to start later this year.
The crossover utility vehicle is built on the STLA-Large multi-energy platform that is also used for the electric Jeep Wagoneer S and upcoming Jeep Recon, as well as the Dodge Charger Daytona.
The Cherokee is being launched exclusively as a hybrid with a starting price of $36,995.
POWER

The Cherokee’s hybrid powertrain is comprised of a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with electric motor assist that powers the all-wheel-drive system through an Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission. It is rated at 210 hp and 230 lb-ft of torque and expected to have a 37 EPA combined fuel economy rating. Jeep hasn’t confirmed additional powertrain options, but said they are under consideration.

BODY

The 2026 Cherokee is about a half-foot longer than the 2023 model and has a longer wheelbase that provides significantly more rear legroom. A more upright tailgate and sides helped increase cargo space by about 30%.

CABIN

The interior design is more upscale than the old Cherokee’s and features digital instrument cluster and infotainment system screens that Jeep says are the best available, plus a row of touch-sensitive controls for the climate control system and a rotary transmission selector knob. The leather options are synthetic and nearly all of the other materials in the cabin are recycled.
