Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson stepped into the roles of Starsky and Hutch for the 2004 movie remake of the classic TV show and brought its star car along with them. The red and white Ford Gran Torino is as memorable as the characters and nine new ones were built for the making of the film. This 1974 model year car has a modified 360 V8 rated at a claimed 435 hp that runs and comes with a police radio and magnetic red roof light for the full effect.

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” is far from the highest-rated film in the franchise, but the 1957-set feature has a memorable opening scene when a hot rod full of youths briefly races a U.S. Army 1950 Ford Deluxe driven by a Soviet spy down a desert highway in Nevada. The car still has its cosmetically enhanced worn appearance, some of the real grit and grime picked up during production and its 239-cubic-inch V8 and three-speed column shifter both still work.

Law enforcement officers aren’t supposed to steal cars, but that’s what Chief of Police Jim Hopper did during Season Three of “Stranger Things” when he “commandeered” Todd’s 1985 Cadillac Eldorado with TODFTHR plates from a 7-Eleven gas station. The yellow convertible was used before being destroyed by the spider monster at the very 1980s Starcourt Mall.
