Forget Soccer Moms, The Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak Is For Mama Bears

The Chrysler Pacifica thinks its a Jeep now.
The Pacifica Grizzly Peak is an off-road minivan concept that Chrysler built for the Overland Expo Mountain West show in Loveland, Colo.
Chrysler started with an all-wheel-drive Pacifica Limited powered by a 3.6-liter V6 and lifted its suspension 2.75 inches in front and 2.5 inches in the rear with an aftermarket spacer kit.
That gave it enough clearance for a set of beefy 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires that it mounted on the 18-inch Foreshadow wheels from the Family Adventure Vehicle edition Pacifica.

It also removed the third row seats to repurpose the bin it folds into for storage and built a flat cargo floor panel to cover it. The first two rows of seats have been reupholstered with white over black Katzkin leather, which is contrasted by orange piping and seat belts.

Chrysler outfitted the vehicle with plenty of adventure gear, including a Rhino-Rack roof platform with TYRI lights below it, an ARB retractable awning and Baja Designs yellow fog lamps.

A set of Mopar splash guards aim to keep the matte-finish paint clean, while a protective wrap handles scratches. A grizzly bear face logo adorns the front doors behind the wheels.

Chrysler didn’t announce plans to offer a factory version of the Pacifica Grizzly Peak, but it’s possible that some of the concepts elements will truckle down into a production model. It also offers inspiration to ambitious custom vehicle builders.

The Pacifica and the mechanically identical entry-level Voyager are currently the brand’s only two models, so it is looking for ways to broaded their appeal until an all-new SUV arrives in showrooms sometime next year.
