New ‘Chevrolet Chevelle’ Pilot Car For Sale

It’s the one that started it all. Well, restarted it all.
Florida’s Trans Am Worldwide sells a custom car it calls the 70/SS that is a sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro that’s been redesigned with styling inspired by the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.
It follows the company’s popular line of modern Camaros transformed into Pontiac Trans Am-style cars.
The first 70/SS was unveiled in 2022 with olive green paint and gold stripes. The styling has evolved over the years with subtle changes to the bodywork, but the overall look remains the same.

The cars are built on convertible Camaro chassis, but can be equipped with removable hardtops to give them the look of a coupe. Aside from some trim pieces, the interior is mostly the stock Camaro’s.

Trans Am Worldwide sells the 70/SS with a variety of engine options that range from a stock Camaro LT1 6.2-liter V8 to a 900 hp supercharged V8 and a twin-turbo V8 with 1,500 hp. The pilot car has a Magnuson supercharged V8 bored out to 396 cubic inches, a six-speed manual transmission.

The builds take around 1,400 hours to complete and prices start at $180,000 today, but can easily rise to more than $300,000, depending on the engine and other options, which can include various types of suspension work, depending on the intended use. Some customers buy them as daily drivers and others as drag cars. Despite the high price, the company has sold dozens and new build slots are in short supply.
But now the original prototype is being offered for sale with just 987 miles on the odometer. Trans Am Worldwide hasn’t publicized the asking price, but will be happy to share it with seriously interested customers.

As for what’s next from the outfit, American Cars And Racing has seen what it’s working on, but can’t reveal anything about it just yet. What we can say, is that it’s unlike anything you’ve seen from the company before.
