The Chevrolet SS Just Won NASCAR’s ARCA Series Championship

Brenden Queen showed up at Toledo Speedway today and didn’t even need to show out to win the ARCA Menards Series Championship.
The Pinnacle Racing Group driver had eight wins and the points lead heading into the season finale and just had to start the practice session to officially enter the race, which earned him enough points to clinch the title.
“It’s pretty special for me,” Queen told ARCA.com. “My last six years, I’ve won three Langley [Speedway] championships, a CARS Tour championship and now an ARCA championship. It’s really special to add my name to that list of drivers that have done it. A lot of them are in Cup or Xfinity, so it gives me a lot of hope and optimism about the future.”
Queen drives a Chevrolet SS in the NASCAR-owned series, which uses cars based on fifth generation Cup Series chassis that wear older bodies. The Camaro became Chevrolet’s Cup Series body in 2018 after the production SS was discontinued in 2018.

Chevrolet could find itself in a similar situation in the Cup Series this year as the production Camaro was discontinued after the 2024 model year. Five Chevy drivers remain in the NASCAR Playoffs heading into the Charlotte Roval Round of 12 cut-off race, giving it decent odds of claiming another championship for the model.

It should be the last one as NASCAR confirmed this week that a new Chevrolet body has been approved for the 2026 season. However, it hasn’t yet said what model the body is based on, so it’s not impossible that the Camaro style will live on a little longer. The automaker removed Camaro branding from the car this year and replaced it with Chevrolet.
Coincidentally, the NASCAR Brasil Series revealed the all-new cars that will be launching in 2026 this week and Chevy’s entry still looks like a Camaro, although it also doesn’t wear the name.
