Apple TV has secured the U.S. broadcast rights to Formula 1 starting next year in a new five-year deal with the racing series. Disney is F1’s current partner and shows the U.K.’s Sky Sports feed on ESPN and ABC.

The streamer is hoping to leverage the success of this year’s “F1 the Movie” that was a big hit for Apple Studios.

The 2026 season is set to be one of the most important in Formula 1 history as it will see the launch of an all-new car and the entry of the Cadillac Formula 1 Team along with Ford’s return to the series as a partner with Red Bull Racing.

“This is an incredibly exciting partnership for both Formula 1 and Apple that will ensure we can continue to maximize our growth potential in the U.S. with the right content and innovative distribution channels,” Formula 1 president and CEO Stefanfo Domenicali said in a news release.

“We have a shared vision to bring this amazing sport to our fans in the U.S. and entice new fans through live broadcasts, engaging content, and a year-round approach to keep them hooked.”

A special subscription will be required for the broadcasts, but pricing has not yet been announced. The similar Apple MLS Season Pass currently costs $99 for non-subscribers and $79 for Apple TV subscribers. Formula 1 broadcast subscriptions will include access to the F1 TV Premium app, however.

The 2026 Formula 1 cars will have all-new chassis and powertrains, which will provide up to 1,000 hp split between their turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 and electric motor. Cadillac is entering the series as a manufacturer, but will be using Ferrari power units until the one it is developing in-house is ready for the 2029 season. Ford has a technical alliance with Red Bull Racing and is a partner in thebranded Red Bull Ford Powertrains division.
