The Ford Mustang California Special Is Electric Now

California is the top market for electric vehicles, so the latest Mustang Mach-E makes sense.
Ford has offered a California Special trim on the Mustang since 1968 and has now brought it to the electric SUV.
It will be available on the Mustang Mach-E GT, which has a 480 hp all-wheel-drive system with 700 lb-ft of torque and a range of 280 miles per charge.
It’s a pure appearance package that includes a California Special hood graphic along with blue accents on its badges and unique 20-inch wheels.

“With California and its beautiful coastline, blue is a natural choice,” Kristen Keenan, color and materials designer for Ford, said in a news release. “We developed a new color called Rave Blue. It travels from light to dark, just like ocean water, and it’s extremely chromatic, going to a blue violet in some cases. It’s just a beautiful dynamic color.”

The blue theme continues into the cabin where the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, doors and center console are trimmed in Navy Pier blue ActiveX and Miko fabrics.
