Cadillac F1 Driver Colton Herta To Go For Daytona Win In 2026

Colton Herta is going to be pulling double duty for Cadillac next season.
The Cadillac Formula 1 Team test driver will be joining the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing IMSA team for three endurance races.
Herta will drive in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and the Petit Le Mans season finale in the No. 40 GTP car with full-time drivers Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz.
“Super excited to join Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing for the endurance rounds next year. We had some success last time I was with the team, and I hope to continue that,” Herta said in a news release. “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Cadillac’s naturally aspirated engine. Daytona can’t come soon enough.”

Herta drove the same three races for Wayne Taylor Racing in 2024 when it was an Acura team and won Sebring. It also picked up a third place finish at Daytona and was seventh at Petit Le Mans.
Along with his test driving duties for the Cadillac Formula 1 Team, Herta will be competing the full Formula 2 season with Hitec racing to pick up FIA Superlicense points and gain experience on the tracks he hopes to be competing on in Formula 1 in future seasons. Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas will be Cadillac’s main drivers in 2026.
“I’ve loved my time in IndyCar and I’m proud of everything I achieved, but the opportunity to race in F2 – to compete on the Formula 1 calendar, against some of the best young drivers in the world – was one I couldn’t pass up,” Herta said of his new multi-faceted job.
“Hitech has an excellent reputation and a proven track record, and I’m confident it’s the right environment for me to develop and perform. I want to thank them for believing in me and providing the platform to make this step.”
