This 300 HP Mustang-Powered Ford Maverick Is Coming Soon

The Ford Maverick Lobo street performance pickup is getting some competition … from the Ford Maverick.
Ford has unveiled a new Ford Performance Package for the Maverick AWD XL, XLT, and Lariat debuting at the SEMA Show that swaps in components from the Maverick Lobo’s suspension and cranks up the power of their 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines.
The Maverick 300T previews a new package coming to the Ford Custom Garage that includes all the parts needed for the transformation.
Among them is the turbocharger from the Ford Mustang’s 2.3-liter four-cylinder, which increases the engine’s output from 250 hp and 277 lb-ft to 300 hp and 317 lb-ft.

It comes with an an intercooler that’s 58.8% larger than the stock unit and cat-back exhaust system with chrome Borla tips that exit from the side of the truck behind the left rear tire. The suspension is tuned with a Lobo-based lowering kit, monotube rear dampers, bushings and a stiffer stabilizer bar.

A set of bronze wheels from the Mustang Mach-E GT and an Air Design front spoiler are included, along with a package of Ford Peformance graphics, badges and floor mats.

“Maverick owners are some of the most passionate and creative enthusiasts we have,” Matt Simpson, Executive Director, Ford Accessories and Personalization, said in a news release.

“They’ve shown us incredible builds online and at meetups across the country. The Maverick 300T package gives them a factory-engineered and backed way to unlock serious performance while maintaining the practicality and efficiency that made them fall in love with Maverick in the first place.”

Of course, while Maverick’s with the 300T package promise to be fast, they don’t get all of the Lobo’s goodies. The factory trim’s all-wheel-drive system is upgraded with unique drive modes and includes a dual-clutch rear drive unit with torque-vectoring capabilities. It also has a seven-speed transmission, instead of the stock eight-speed unit, to optimize its performance on autocross-type circuits.
Pricing and timing for the 300T package’s release have not been confirmed.
