2027 Kia Telluride Revealed In First Images, But What’s Under The Hood?

The Kia Telluride is getting its first makeover. The three-row SUV originally launched in 2020 and has been a smash hit for the brand with sales increasing every year.

Nevertheless, the Georgia-built model has been fully redesigned with a wheelbase stretched nearly three inches to increase interior space.

The new styling features a blunt front end with slim vertical headlights framing an oversized grille and smooth sides with flush pop-out door handles.

Kia will once again be offering it in an off-road style X-Pro trim, which features black wheel arches and exterior trim, recovery hooks, all-terrain tires and 9.1 inches of ground clearance.

The dashboard is equipped with dual digital displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, the latter of which has a volume scroll wheel and toggle controls for the climate system below it. It’s a simple, pared-down look with air vents arranged in a straight line at the bottom of the dashboard.

“With Telluride, it was a matter of being tailored and restrained – dare I say, anti-design,” Tom Kearns, VP and Senior Chief Designer, Kia Design Center America said n a news release. “With that approach, it was about capturing strength and luxury, tradition and modernness, into a single expression. That’s what Opposites United enabled us to do.”

Full details, including pricing and powertrain options, will be announced on Nov. 20 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. However, the Telluride shares its platform with the Hyundai Palisade, which is is available with either a 287 hp 3.6-liter V6 or a hybrid powertrain based around a 258 hp turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers a top EPA fuel economy rating of 34 mpg combined.
