Stick-Shift Chevrolet Silverado Launches With 1,000 HP V8

It’s been nearly 20 years since you could buy a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 from the factory with a stick shift, but now there’s a way to get one and so much more.
Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) has introduced a two-door Silverado equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and additional performance upgrades that turn it into a very serious muscle truck.
The New Jersey-based tuning house starts with a base rear-wheel-drive Silverado 1500 WT, which is the only model offered with a regular cab, and swaps in a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with strengthened internals along with updated intake and direct injection systems that boost its output to 1,000 hp.
Power gets sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 manual operated by a stick that’s been expertly integrated into the center console as the monster motor breathes through a specially designed stainless steel cat back exhaust system.

The suspension has been lowered two inches in front, five inches in the rear and equipped with progressive rate springs and Fox high performance dampers along with heavy duty sway bars and traction bars.

Six-piston front Brembo brakes improve the stopping power and the pickup grips the road with a set of Nitto performance tires mounted to 22-inch six-spoke wheels. Yenko logos and graphics round out the package.

SVE is only offering 50 builds at $89,995, not including the price of the donor truck, so figure around $130,000 to start, according to Backfire News.

While Chevrolet hasn’t offered a car with a manual transmission since the Camaro went out of production in 2023, GM still does offer two. The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing are both available with either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.

Cadillac recently confirmed that the CT4 will be discontinued after the 2026 model year, but that a new CT5 will be introduced for 2027. It has not yet said if the manual transmission option will continue to be offered.
