DragonSpeed’s New IMSA Chevy Corvette Is Powered By Big Evel Knievel Energy

Hot off of a second place finish in the 2025 IMSA GTD Pro class, DragonSpeed is trading in its Ferrari for one of the Corvettes that beat it in 2026. The Florida-based team is switching to the GTD class, where it will field a Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
“The entire team is looking forward to working closely with the incredibly skilled and experienced group at Corvette Racing. The extraordinary competitiveness of the IMSA GTD class makes this one of our biggest challenges yet, but we are excited and ready to make the most of the opportunities offered by the mighty Z06 GT3.R and a collaboration with Corvette.”
GTD is a “pro-am” class that requires each team to have at least one FIA silver or bronze rated driver at each race. Giacomo Altoe, Casper Stevenson and Henrik Hedman will drive for the team.
“The entire team is looking forward to working closely with the incredibly skilled and experienced group at Corvette Racing,” DragonSpeed team principal said in a news release.

Perhaps the coolest thing about the effort is the livery the Corvette will feature, which looks inspired by the suit and helmet worn by legendary motorcycle stunt rider Evel Knievel. The white car is emblazoned in red-bordered blue stripes with stars in them, just like Knievel’s leathers.
