Toyota hasn’t said how many vehicles it plans to ship to Japan, or if any of them will be converted to right-side steering. Vehicles in Japan drive on the left side of the road, but left-side steering is allowed by law.
Toyota has recently committed to investing $10 billion in U.S. manufacturing. The Alabama-built Corolla is currently the lowest-priced car that’s assembled in the U.S and has a $23,920 starting price, while the Camry remains the best-selling car model in the country and was named the 2025 US-Built Car Of The YearTM. Toyota also holds the top sales spot for SUVs with the Rav4, which is manufactured in the U.S., Canada and Japan.
