Ford Just Launched An All-Terrain Hybrid F-150 At A Bargain Price

The F-150 Lightning STX is dead, long live the F-150 PowerBoost STX.
Ford is making the F-150’s PowerBoost hybrid drivetrain available on a new entry-level trim for 2026. The automaker has added it to the F-150 STX 4×4’s options.
The PowerBoost is built around the F-150’s turbocharged EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6 and is rated at 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. Past models had an EPA fuel economy rating of 23 mpg combined and were capable of towing more than 11,000 pounds.
The STX is a value-oriented trim that sits between the XL and XLT in the F-150 lineup, but the PowerBoost is only offered with the SuperCrew body with a 5.5-foot bed.

Ford didn’t make a big announcement about the new trim, but FordAuthority first spotted the configuration’s availability. Ford had previously confirmed that the F-150 Lightning was set to get the STX trim for 2026, before that all-electric model was permanently discontinued. The F-150 Lightning is set to return at some point with an extended-range electric vehicle drivetrain.

The F-150 PowerBoost STX comes black cloth sport seats and 20-inch dark gray wheels with all-terrain tires, giving it some rugged road capability.

It includes a 2.4-kilowatt Pro Power Onboard system with outlets that allow it to be used as a generator for worksites, campsites, etc. Ford’s CoPilot 360 package of electronic driver aids is standard equipment.
