Ford is celebrating the end of 2025 a little early.

With a couple of days left to go, Ford said that the F-Series is on track to be the best-selling truck lineup for the 49th year running, with more than 800,000 delivered in the U.S. Ford combines sales of the F-150, F-Series Super Duty and F-600 to reach the figure.

The F-Series first became America’s best-selling truck in 1977 and followed that up by becoming the best selling vehicle of all in 1982, another title it has yet to relinquish.

Despite being primarily sold in the U.S., the F-Series was the fourth-best selling vehicle in the world in 2024 behind the Toyota Rav4, Tesla Model Y and Toyota Corolla with with 903,454 global deliveries.

Ford doesn’t break out individual F-Series model sales, but its production reports suggest that the F-150 makes up roughly 60% of deliveries. The F-150 Lightning should account for just over 30,000 deliveries in the final tally for 2025.

General Motors will be sure to note that Ford’s best-selling claim comes with an asterisk, as the combined sales of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra lineups are on pace to surpass 900,000 in 2025. The two truck lines share their basic architectures and powertrains, but have distinct bodies and trim unique to each brand.
