The Toyota Tacoma’s Record Sales Are Crushing GM And Ford — Here Are The Top-Sellers

The Toyota Tacoma was redesigned in 2024 and customers are still loving it.
Toyota delivered 274,638 of the Mexican-made midsize pickups in the U.S. last year, which was more than the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Ford Ranger … combined.
Tacoma deliveries were up 42.4% from 2024, when it began transitioning to the new truck, and beat the old 252,490 sales record from 2021.
It also outsold the full-size Tundra by a wide margin. Toyota delivered 147,610 last year, which was a drop of 7.5% from 2024.
Here’s a look a the top-selling midsize trucks of 2025:
TOYOTA TACOMA: 274,638

The Tacoma wasn’t just the best-selling midsize pickup, it was also third on Toyota’s sales charts behind the Rav4 (479,288) Camry at 316,185.

CHEVROLET COLORADO: 107,867

The Missouri-built Colorado was redesigned in 2023 and remains the best-seller among the domestic midsize pickups.

FORD RANGER: 70,960

The Michigan-made Ranger was also redesigned in 2024 and deliveries were up more than 50% in the U.S. last year. (Full-year results were not yet available when this story was published.)

NISSAN FRONTIER: 65,232

The Frontier has the oldest design of all of the midsize pickups on sale today, but still sells well thanks to its value pricing.

JEEP GLADIATOR: 56,790

Spurred on by reduced pricing and new trims, Gladiator sales increased 35% in 2025.

HONDA RIDGELINE: 48,448

Sales of the Alabama-built Ridgeline, which is built on a platform that is shared with Honda SUVs and minivans, were up 6.7 percent last year and came close to the model’s all-time record of 50,193 set in 2006.

GMC CANYON: 36,477

The GMC Canyon is mechanically identical to the Chevy Colorado and built alongside it in the same factory, but is designed to be slightly more upscale.
Note: Rivian does not break out sales figures for each of its models, but outside estimates put R1T deliveries at roughly 10,000.
