Cadillac has unveiled the special camouflage livery its Formula 1 car will be wearing when it hits the track for the first time at a closed-door test in Barcelona on Jan. 26.

The design was revealed at GM headquarters in Detroit on a replica Formula 1 car that is not indicative of what the all-new 2026 cars will look like.

The black and white design features lateral stripes and giant Cadillac crests on the engine cover, while the names of all of the team’s founding members are printed on the nose.

“Our new testing livery celebrates Detroit’s design heritage and the power of the global Cadillac Formula 1 Team, while keeping our design secrets under wraps,” Reuss said. “The Barcelona test is just the beginning — we can’t wait to share our official race livery with fans around the world next month.”

Cadillac will be running a commercial during the Super Bowl to officially kick off its season, during which its race livery will be revealed.

Previous teasers suggest it will be a blue and white combination, which are the traditional American colors in international racing, but nothing has been confirmed.

American IndyCar star Colton Herta is serving as a test driver while he competes in the full Formula 2 season to familiarize himself with the tracks used in Formula 1 and earn the necessary FIA SuperLicense points required to move up to Formula 1 when a seat opens up on the Cadillac team.

Herta was a guest on a recent episode of American Cars And Racing’s The GAS podcast to talk about his move into formula racing and upcoming entry in the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona with Wayne Taylor Cadillac Racing.
