Jeep Goes To Plaid With 85th Anniversary Wrangler And Gladiator

Jeep is launching a new model or trim on the 12th of every month through November to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the original World War 2 Willys MB that spawned the brand, and the latest literally celebrates the 85th anniversary.
The 85th Anniversary edition package features throwback plaid upholstery and trim, berber floor mats and 85th Anniversary shifter badge and center console plaque. It also has another plaque on the tailgate that features the grilles of every generation CJ and Wrangler.
The package is a $710 add-on to the Wrangler Sport S, but is bundled with the optional Standard Convenience Group, Alpine premium audio, deep-tint windows, Gorilla Glass windshield, LED lighting with automatic headlamps and adaptive cruise control. The all-in price starts at $48,295 with a 3.6-liter V6 and six-speed manual transmission.
The Gladiator version is also based on the Sport S trim priced at $1,005 for a $47,815 starting price, but the Gladiator is only available with the V6 and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The two previous Twelve 4 Twelve model drops were the Wrangler Moab 392 and Wrangler Whitecap.
The Moab 392 comes with a 470 hp 6.4-liter/392-cubic-inch V8 and is basically a reboot of the Rubicon 392. It comes with the Xtreme 35 package that includes 35-inch tires and a 1.5-inch suspension lift plus skid plates, rock rails, a front trail camera and other off-road goodies starting at $81,990.

The Whitecap is a straight appearance package for The Sahara, Rubicon and Rubicon X that adds a white roof and stripe package at various prices across the trims.

The Wrangler is coming off of a good sales year in 2025, with deliveries up 11% from 2024 to 167,000, but the competition is getting stiffer. The Ford Bronco saw a 33.7% increase to edge closer to beating the Wrangler at 146,000, while the Toyota 4Runner racked up nearly 100,000 sales as an all new model started hitting showrooms and started the climb back toward its all-time record of 144,696 in 2021.
