AEV — American Expedition Vehicles — has been converting American trucks into extreme off-roaders for the past couple of decades, with Jeeps, Rams, Chevys and GMCs under its belt, and now its finally gotten around to Ford.

The AEV FXL is a diesel Ford F-Series Super Duty that showcases a catalog of new parts that are available for the F-250 and F-350, and will be available as an all-in build from AEV.

The XL doesn’t just fit the truck’s extra large size, but is also the Roman numeral for 40, which is how many inches tall the BFGoodrich HD-Terrain KT tires wrapped around the 18-inch eight-bolt AEV Katami DualSport wheels are.

They are accommodated by a 4-inch lift kit engineered by AEV, which works with a set of specially-tuned Bilstein shock absorbers.

There’s also an AEV-designed stamped steel front bumper with accommodations for a 20,000-pound winch and a brush guard with accommodations for off-road lights, along with a rear bumper with rock guards at the corners.

FXL side stripes dress things up along with AEV badging and a serialized number plaque for complete trucks.

AEV is showing the FXL off at the Detroit Auto Show and the individual parts will be available to order before the summer. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but its similar builds for other trucks start around $12,000. All of AEV’s own parts are made in USA.
