Justin Allgaier left it late at Phoenix Raceway, taking the lead with 11 laps to go to claim his third career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series win at the track. The win moved the 2024 series champion to the top of the season standings with two top 5 finishes in four races.
“So proud of this team,” Allgaier said in victory lane. “It wasn’t for lack of adversity and it seems like those are the ones that are big for us,” Allgaier said, referencing a pit stop issue early in the race.
The last car Allgaier got by was the No. 2 of defending series champion Jesse Love, who dominated most of the race with 114 of 200 laps led, but ran out of steam at the end.
“The car tightening up there at the beginning of stage three put us behind, so just frustrated,” Love said.
Allgaier now has wins in 10 consecutive seasons, which is a new record for the second-tier series.
“It never gets old winning,” Allgaier said.
