Honda is pulling the plug on the radically styled 0 Series lineup it planned to start building in Ohio late this year.
The 0 SUV was set to launch in 2026 and be followed by the low, sleek 0 Saloon in 2027. Full details and pricing had not been released, but Honda was targeting 300 miles of range and extreme efficiency achieved through a design philosophy it called “Thin, Light, and Wise.”
An electric Acura RSX built on the platform that was scheduled to be in showrooms this year has also been canceled.
Honda was developing a $4.4 billion EV Hub at its Marysville Auto Plant and Anna Engine Plant to support the vehicles and will be taking a write-down on that expense along with additional investments in the battery supply chain. It cited “a decline in the profitability of gasoline and hybrid models due to the impact of newly imposed tariffs” while announcing the change.

“Honda determined that starting production and sales of these three models in current business environment where the demand for EVs is declining significantly would likely result in further losses over the long term,” it said in a news release.
The electric Acura ZDX that was built by General Motors was discontinued last year, but the Honda Prologue remains available.
Honda has not yet confirmed what it will use the EV Hub’s factory space for, but it currently builds the Honda Accord and Acura Integra at the Marysville plant.
