Justin Allgaier Keeps JR Motorsports NASCAR O’Reilly Series Winning Streak Alive At Martinsville

Justin Allgaier survived Martinsville’s version of The Big One to win the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series NFPA 250 on Saturday. It was Allgaier’s third win in seven races and the fifth straight for a JR Motorsports car.

Allgaier started from pole and won the first stage, finished 10th in the second and then rallied to the front near the end. With 22 laps to go, Allgaier lined up next to his teammate for the day, Lee Pullian — a local late model legend getting his first start in the series with JR Motorsports — and took the lead, but a quick yellow flag reset them for another try with 17 laps left. Pullian missed a shift on the start, causing a massive pile-up behind him that brought out a red flag.

Allgaier came through unscathed and never gave up the lead as he finished comfortably ahead Corey Day, Sammy Smith, Sheldon Creed and Pulliam, who held on for fifth.

“All in all, incredible to come in, run a race, lead laps, and run the car up front and get a great result in a tough place, he survived. He’s a helluva driver,” Earnhardt said after the race.

JR Motorsports is one win away from tying the six-race streak set by Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008.
