This Gorgeous Dodge Ram Power Wagon Is Hiding A Secret
The early post-war Dodge Ram Power Wagon is one of the most iconic American trucks ever designed and looks perfect as-is, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.
The ancient pickup features archaic technology that pales in comparison to what is available in today’s trucks.
North Carolina’s Desert Power Wagons has addressed the issue for fans of the style who are looking for something a bit more modern and its latest build definitely delivers … for a price.
After restoring the original body, Desert Power Wagons dropped it onto a custom fully-boxed steel frame equipped with a Carl 2.5″ Backcountry 2.0 suspension system. It rides on
20” Method Race Wheels with 40” Maxxis Razr M/T tires and provides 9.5-inches of wheel travel for off-roading.

Power is provided by a tuned 6.7-liter turbocharged Cummins straight-six-cylinder that breathes through a MBRP filter-back exhaust system and is rated at 385 hp and 930 lb-ft.
The interior is borrowed from a fifth generation Ram 2500 Limited, which has been upgraded with Ebony Salerno leather with red piping and crocodile-embossed inserts. Audio is provided by a custom JL Audio 800W 8-channel Class D full-range amplifier and Focal speaker setup.

Desert Power Wagons said the build took 5,000 hours to complete and it is available for sale. An exact price hasn’t been released, but the company’s builds typically start in the $385,000 range.
