The Last American Convertibles On Sale Today
It’s getting harder and harder to drop the top.
When the Chevrolet Camaro went out of production in 2023 it took yet one more American convertible off the shopping list for sun-loving car shoppers.
Chevrolet has no plans to replace it anytime soon and several brands including Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Lincoln and Tesla currently do not offer any open-top models, but there are still a few out there.
(Sticklers will argue that they aren’t all technically “convertibles” but we’re using that term generically.)
CHEVROLET CORVETTE
Every Chevrolet Corvette coupe has a targa-style removable roof panel, but the mid-engine sports car is also offered as a hardtop convertible that manages to retain a trunk behind its mid-mounted V8. The model is available in all trims including the Stingray, Z06, hybrid E-Ray and upcoming 1,064 hp ZR1.

FORD BRONCO
The two-door and four-door Ford Broncos have removable roof panels and can also be fitted with a folding soft top that puts it more into the “convertible” category. It’s doors also come off for next-level open-air driving.

FORD MUSTANG
The Ford Mustang was updated for 2024 and remains available as a convertible with either the EcoBoost turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder or 5.0 V8 in the GT, but the top of the line Dark Horse model is only offered as a coupe. That’s also true for the upcoming 2025 Mustang GTD, which costs $325,000 and proves that money can’t buy everything.

GMC HUMMER EV PICKUP AND SUV
The GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV come with an Infinity Roof that features four removable panels that are available with clear plexiglas. You can take out the crossbar over the front seats to create a targa opening, while rear seat passengers get a T-top. They are also the only fully electric open vehicles available.
JEEP GLADIATOR
Believe it or not, there are two open-top pickups on sale today. The Jeep Gladiator is basically a Wrangler with a bed grafted on and features the same cabin as its SUV counterpart, complete with removable roof panels and doors.

JEEP WRANGLER
Jeep was born without a fixed roof and more than eight decades later its most iconic model keeps that spirit alive in both two-door and four-door models, which were updated for 2024 with amazing technology like its first power front seats.
