The Most Powerful Chevrolet Corvettes Ever

The Chevrolet Corvette is about to break the 1,000 hp barrier.
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged engine rated at 1,064 hp that makes it the most powerful internal combustion engine car ever sold by major U.S. automaker.
No Corvette has ever come close to it, but there have been plenty of powerful ones before.
1. 2025 CORVETTE ZR1: 1,064 HP

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 has a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 with an exotic flat-plane crankshaft that can crank out 1,064 hp and 828 lb-ft. It can accelerate to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and has a top speed of 233 mph, making it the fastest car ever sold by GM or any mainstream automaker.

2. 2019 CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZR1: 755 HP

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 was the last front-engine Corvette model introduced before the mid-engine eighth generation car was released in 2020. Its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 is rated at 755 hp and 715 lb-ft. The 2019 ZR1’s 212 mph top speed seemed fast until the 2025 model came along.

3. 2023 CORVETTE Z06: 670 HP

The 2023 Corvette Z06 was the first to adopt the 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 before it was turbocharged for the ZR1. Even without the blowers, the high-revving engine can produce 670 hp, 460 lb-ft of torque and propel the car to a 10.6-second quarter-mile.
4. 2024 CORVETTE E-RAY: 655 HP

The first hybrid Corvette is a very mean green machine. The all-wheel drive E-Ray combines a 495 hp 6.2-liter V8 driving the rear wheels with an electric motor up front for a combined 655 hp. It can sprint to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and down a quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds, which made it the quickest Corvette in history until the 2025 ZR1 came along.

5. 2015 CORVETTE Z06: 650 HP

The 2015 Corvette Z06 was the top dog for a couple of years thanks to a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 tuned to a nice round 650 hp and 650 lb-ft.

6. 2009 CORVETTE ZR1: 638 HP

The 2009 Corvette ZR1 was the first to resurrect the trim name since 1995. It is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 like its successor, but with 638 hp and 604 lb-ft, which was a whole lot when it was released.
