What NASCAR Driver Has The Most Brickyard 400 Wins?
The Brickyard 400 is back!
After spending the past three seasons racing on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s infield road course, the NASCAR Cup Series is returning to the venue’s iconic 2.5-mile oval to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first Brickyard 400 in 1994.
The race was held through 2020 when declining interest led NASCAR to give road racing at the venue a try in 2021, but it never quite took off so it decided to give the Next Gen Cup Series cars their first shot at the oval.
Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson are the only drivers in this year’s race who have won it before, but who has the most wins?
KYLE BUSCH – 2
Kyle Busch won back-to-back Brickyard 400s in 2015 and 2016 with Joe Gibbs Racing and will be looking to add to that total with his new team, Richard Childress Racing this year.

TONY STEWART – 2
Indiana-native Tony Stewart raced in five Indy 500s and ran The Double with the Coca-Cola 600 twice, but he didn’t get the chance to kiss the bricks until winning the Brickyard 400 in 2005 and 2007.

DALE JARRETT – 2
Dale Jarrett won the Brickyard 400 in 1996 and 1999, the latter helping him win the NASCAR Cup Series championship that year.
KEVIN HARVICK – 3
Kevin Harvick won the last Brickyard 400 in 2020 in front of empty grandstands during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, adding to his 2019 and 2003 victories.
JIMMIE JOHNSON – 4
Jimmie Johnson counts the 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2012 Brickyard 400s among his 83 career wins, but he’s not done yet. The Legacy Motor Club owner has entered this year’s race after competing in the 2022 Indy 500 during his stint as an IndyCar driver and has a chance to tie for the most Brickyard 400 wins ever.

JEFF GORDON – 5
The Brickyard 400 had a storybook start when home state hero Jeff Gordon won the inaugural 1994 race. California-born Gordon’s racing career took off when his family moved to Indiana when he was a teen. He’d go on to take the checkered flag again in 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2014, becoming the only driver with five wins in the crown jewel event.
