The V8-powered Dodge Charger muscle cars are going out of production forever at the end of this year, and some drivers can’t get enough of them.

Getaway drivers, that is.

The Charger SRT Hellcat and Charger Hemi are the top two models on the latest IIHS/HDLI (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety/Highway Loss Data Institute) most-stolen vehicles report, and it’s not even close.

The study looked at the frequency of stolen vehicle claims for 2020-2022 model year vehicles, which were more than 60 times higher than the industry average for the Charger SRT Hellcat and nearly 22 times higher for the Charger HEMI.

“If you own a Hellcat, you better check your driveway,” said HLDI Senior Vice President Matt Moore.

“These numbers are unbelievable.”

The Chargers’ numbers on the scale were 6,128 and 2,197, with 100 being the industry average.

The Infiniti Q50 sedan was third at 878 and the Dodge Challenger — also set for termination this year — fourth at 766.

Four Kia models made the top 20, in part due to a security flaw that’s been shared on social media.

At the other end of the Spectrum, the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y tied as the least-stolen vehicles with scores of three.

The IIHS/HDLI said one factor could be that owners of these models are more likely to keep them in secure areas as they are being charged.

General Motors also fared well, with six models on the top 20 least-stolen vehicles list.
