The Fisker Pear Is A Magical Electric Urban Pizza Delivery Vehicle With A Front Bench Seat
It packs a lot into a small space.
Fisker has released additional details about the upcoming Pear compact electric vehicle that debuted at its Vision Day event in early August.
The four-door hatchback is scheduled to go on sale in the summer of 2025 at a starting price of $29,900 before tax credits are deducted.
The Pear will come standard with a battery pack that can provide an estimated range of 180 miles, but a 320-mile model will also be offered.
The four-door hatchback has several unusual features, including a unique hatch.
Instead of a liftback or swing-out door, the window retracts into the door, which then sinks behind the bumper. Fisker calls it the Houdini Trunk and said it will make it easier to use in crowded urban parking situations.
THE FISKER ALASKA WILL BE MADE IN USA AND THIS IS HOW BIG IT IS
There’s also a small compartment in the hood that’s more like a drawer, according to Fisker, and big enough for a pizza. Insulation to keep food hot or cold will be optional.
The cabin has a simple dashboard design along the lines of a Tesla Model 3’s. There isn’t an instrument cluster, just a central touchscreen display.
The Pear, which is the same length as a Mazda CX-5, but with a lower stance, has seating for five or six, with a front bench seat in the latter configuration.
Both rows of seats can be folded into a flat surface Fisker calls Lounge Mode, which can be used when it is parked.
FISKER ADOPTING TESLA’S CHARGER IN 2025
Fisker originally intended to build the Pear at a factory owned by Foxconn in Lordstown, Ohio, but hasn’t finalized the deal.
