Carson Hocevar Moving To NASCAR Cup Series Wtih Spire Motorsports In 2024

NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar will leapfrog the Xfinity Series and jump right into a Cup Series car with Spire Motorsports next season.

The team announced on Tuesday that Hocevar will join Corey LaJoie and his current fellow Truck Series Driver Zane Smith in a three-car effort next year.

Hocevar signed a multiyear deal that will put him in the No. 77 car, replacing Ty Dillon.

Hocevar has driven in several Cup Series races this season and will finish out the year with four starts for Legacy Motorsports.

“I mean, anybody in my position wants to be a Cup Series driver,” Hocevar said in a statement. “That’s what you dream about when you’re young. You want to race on Sundays. So, my opportunity to run a few times this year, to run on Sunday and get ready, I feel more than prepared to get in the No. 77 car with Spire.”

The 20-year-old Hocevar released a commemorative “Dirt to Daytona” T-shirt on his website to celebrate the move up the stock car racing ladder.

Spire last month paid a reported $40 million to buy a third charter from Live Fast Motorsports.

Hocevar sits second in the Truck Series Playoffs standings with one race to go in the Round of Eight at Homestead-Miami on October 21 before the final in Phoenix on November 3.

I wish their organization nothing but the best in the future. I am excited for what’s to come next year.”
