Kyle Larson Wins High Limit Sprint Car Series Championship Ahead Of Indy 500 Rookie Test

NASCAR star Kyle Larson clinched the inaugural High Limit Sprint Car Series Championship at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind., on Wednesday night.

Larson is a co-owner of the the weeknight racing series that he founded with fellow sprint car racer Brad Sweet.

Larson was third in the race, which was won by Rico Abreu, who finished the 11-event season in second place, just 7 points behind Larson.

“It was a lot of fun,” Larson said in a release from his NASCAR team, Hendrick Motorsports.

“Rico did a good job closing the gap all season. It got close there at the end but thankfully we were still able to edge him out.”

Larson didn’t rush out of the state after the win.

He’ll be down the road at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Thursday for his Indy 500 rookie test with the Arrow McLaren team.

After that, he’ll be heading to Las Vegas Speedway for the first race in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs round of eight on Sunday. Larson is currently fourth in the playoffs standings behind William Byron, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamliln.
